Has anyone had any luck with Medicare paying for 29877 w/29881? I've also used G0289..they are denying both codes as incidental... please help!

You can't use 29877 as a secondary procedure with Medicare...you need the G0289. They should pay so my question would be medical neccessity. What dx code you have for G0289?

Were they done in the same compartment ?
They pay G0289, provided its in a distinct compartment from the 29881. Can you tell us the compartments? Are you in a post op period to another surgery perhaps? If they are not paying for both procedures there has to be another reason we can't help you with. To me it sounds like you are getting this denial for something totally different then coding. You may want to call the carrier. Please let us know.
