Does anyone code for CTO for coronary artrtery. I have two Interventional doctors that work on this patient doing the same procedure and he says that they both should be able to bill for this. CPT code 92980 under co-surgey is a "O" . So I can't bill with mod 62. Does anyone has this issue . we do this in the cath . lab and its a longer procedure then a normal interventional procedure with stent placement.

Are your physicians each dictating a separate piece of the report? Have you tried to bill with the -80 modifier? That's the one I would think you would need to use. Keep in mind that the assistant surgeon will only be reimbursed for the part he performed. I think the reimbursement is around 80% or so. You may want to double check that with your local carriers. : )
I hope this was of some assistance.
