Hi Coders, I am wondering what other's thoughts are on the new CIC certification? I also wonder if it's comparable to RHIT and would offer the same job opportunities...any thoughts/comments?
I believe it will be comparable to the CCS. I was going to originally go for my RHIT but am now reconsidering since the new CIC has been made available. Many companies are wanting an Associates along with the CCS credentials so I thought maybe I should just get the RHIT since that includes the associates and also takes place of a CCS in a way. But hmmmmm, I might just go for the CIC instead.
The RHIT is only obtainable after completing a 2 year degree program through an AHIMA credited program. The CIC would be most comparable with the CCS coding certification.
