Z30.8 - What is meant by "routine examination for contraceptive maintenance"?

Z30.49 - My understanding of the code is that this is for barrier contraception & diaphragm. Is a spermicide considered a "barrier contraceptive"?

If you are able to answer one or both of the questions, it will be greatly appreciated and helpful.
