Hope someone might be able to help me with this one. Is procedure code 80502 which is clinical pathology consultation be billed out by a psychiatrist when doing saliva testing?

Can this 80502 code also be billed out and reimbursed with procedure code 90862 which is the pharmaceutical management code?

A drug rep is telling us that we can get reimbursed for the use of their test by using code 80502. But I am not sure. Any help is appreciated.

Aren't these "saliva tests" really just a drug assay?

I've seen those administered--by clerical staff at a temp agency. If this is the product we're talking about, I cannot possibly believe this constitutes a clinical pathology consultation--those have very specific descriptions (please see the CDR for CPT by Ingenix).
