We are involved in an NIH registered Clinical Trial that was in place in 2012. As part of the trial we perform blocks 64450 and the blocks were getting paid prior to the most recent LCD change. Now I do not get any blocks paid.
Appeals sent with all NIH study information and they are still denying. Any suggestions as to how I can get them paid? I am in jurisdiction E Noridian. Does Noridian have a Clinical Trial Dept that I can call?
Also since modifier 59 is the hot modifier this year, I am going to remove the 59 and use modifier 76 in hopes that it's only a technical issue with the blocks not being paid.
Does anyone here do Trials and can assist me?
