So I'm new to coding surgeries and having difficulties understanding when to use the 62 modifier. When an ENT is completing their sinus surgery portion of a pituitary gland removal using the Endoscopic transsphenoidal approach and then steps aside for the neurosurgeon to complete the removal portion of the pituitary gland, would you still put a 62 modifier on 61548? According to operative note the ENT steps aside for endoscopic guidance.
