we are looking into to do co visits for our patients. They would see a Provider for a short time ,about 5 or 10 minutes and than the BH Provider would be finishing up the visit. Is there anything that would go against this that we could not bill correctly? Would only the primary care Provider be billing for the visit? Patient would be on the schedule for the PCP. If the PcP is only in the room for a short time would the level have to be lower or can this be combined with the BH provider for a higher level ?

My advice is just don't do it. What are you going to do for the patients who have a mental health carve out? Are you going to bill two visits to two different insurance companies?
