Indication: an expansile lucent mass of the body of the mandible involving the majority of the mandibular teeth, was found to be a central giant cell granuloma s/p incisional biopsy this was coded as M27.1

Procedure: Using a 25 gauge needle, a total of 8cc of 10mg/ml of kenalog with Kenalog and 0.25% Marcaine plain was injected into the anterior mandibular lesion. The procedure was then completed.

The physician wants to code 17110 which is for skin lesion. 21030 is open procedure by enucleation or curettage and doesn't apply. M27.1 doesn't support 17110 and I can't find a more appropriate code. Can anyone offer help with this? Thanks.

Intralesional injections code to 11900, but the code does not specify that it's for skin lesions only so I would think it would be appropriate for this.
