I code mostly E/M so I need your help here. Patient comes in with varicose veins one of which the doc punctured and drained. I know there is a code for draining cyts, but can't seem to find one for a varicose vein. Thanks for your help!
 
I have never coded for this before. I looked up venotomy it took me to phlebtomy (99195), which we all know is for blood draws, but whose to say the blood can't just be discarded and not sent for examination. Just and idea, would like to hear what others think. :)
