I work in a large integrated system, and we are considering purchasing a computer-assisted-coding program to assist coders with the code selection. We aren't looking at an EncoderPro or CodeCorrect, but a Natural Language Processor to suggest codes from the documentation.
In this search, I've been tasked with coming up with coder productivity figures. If there is anyone out there who has any data that can help me, I would appreciate it. What we would like is encounters coded per hour based on specialty. We aren't looking at Radiology, as that is one specialty that is very limited in our system.
