Wiki Codes 92012 and 92071

I am having some denials for these codes when billing them together. We have appended modifier 25 to code 92071. But they are denying it saying a modifier is missing. Can anyone give me insight to this? I am new to the eye care billing world.

25 is an E&M modifier so it does not belong on the 92071. They probably meant invalid modifier.

What modifier would you suggest? A 59 perhaps? I wasn't aware that the code was a surgery. I told ya I was new to this.LOL

Append modifiers 25 with 92012 , not to 92071.
