When a patient come back for the test of cure and wants additional STD testing - should we use Z11.3, disease code or an aftercare code? The patient was treated at an another clinic and wants the test of cure after treatment and wants additional STD testing. Insurance denied the Z11.3 with an office visit code. My provider is saying no to the aftercare code because there is no way to know if she had cleared without the test for cure. Should a disease code be used as primary and then the Z11.3 as secondary?
