I was wondering if it is necessary to supply your own code books to a new job? I am not employed in the coding field but will be looking soon and want to know if I should have my own books and if I should pre-order next years books. Does anyone have some advise for me?

It really depends on your employer. My last employer didn't supply me with any coding tools. My current employer has books that I have access to, but they are not "mine." A few places I interviewed purchased books for their employees. It is something you should ask between the interview and the offer. I was asking at the interviews, just to compare what each employer offered. I wouldn't buy next years yet, unless you know you won't be working into next year. I would hold off a little longer. Unless you want copies for yourself regardless of whether your employer supplies them.
