Wiki Coding cataract surgery 66984 and 2nd eye biometry 92136 on same date of service

We have an Ophthalmologist that is performing cataract surgery (66984) in hospital and then seeing patient in clinic after surgery on the same DOS. At the office visit he is using 99024 and then 92136 biometry for upcoming cataract surgery on the 2nd eye. Is it okay to release codes for these charges on the same dos? Would I need to add a modifier?

Hello, I am not an expert and still learning this specialty. No need for a modifier 92136 with 99024 because 92136 is not a surgical procedure. It might require -26 if billing for professional component.

Bill 92136 for the second eye with the 26 professional modifier and the RT or LT depending on which eye is going to surgery second.
