When billing chronic sinusitis, on the initial visit, can we use the unspecified code J32.9 if no testing was done prior? Then on the subsequent visit, once the pt is sent for testing and we have findings, can we then use a more specified code such as J32.1 (chronic frontal sinusitis) or J32.2 (chronic ethmoidal sinusitis)?
