Need help....My MD believes that a NPP can bill for an E&M code and a 90833 then the NPP refers her to an LCSW for a 90832/90834 on the same day/same dx. The therapy codes would deny inclusive regardless of two different providers rendering the service right? I'm new to coding but I don't think this will work lol.

We typically get a denial if two different providers within our practice perform psychotherapy in the same day (accidentally allow scheduling with both NP and therapist on same day for instance). We try and have the patients schedule these appointments on different days or have the NP/MD focus on E&M only and then the therapist do the psychotherapy.
