Wiki Coding Diagnosis for Radiology from Ancillary Services

Hi- is it compliant for Radiology coders to look through the other Ancillary services in the medical record when the radiologist final diagnosis on the report is to vague in order to code a more specific diagnosis? I always thought that the Radiology Report would stand alone against an Audit and the ancillary services would not be included in that audit for that particular Radiology service, such as CT/MRI/Diagnostic X-rays. Thank you
