I have an insurance plan that claims to have coverage for the egg donor in a IVF cycle, but I have no idea how to bill it as she is not the member on the plan. Anyone else out there ever run into this situation? I can't bill it under the donor's name and DOB as she is not on the plan and the claim will deny. I can't bill it under " Donor for" and her date of birth as it will deny. I am truly stuck. The insurance company is not giving any guidelines as to how this might be accomplished:eek:
 
I bill under the recipient's insurance (the person with the policy), I use the dx code of Z52.810 and the recipient's infertility code as 2nd dx code. I have had luck doing it that way. The insurance always asks for records. The records are always in the receipt name. You never release the donor information.
