I work for an ob0-gyn practice and we administer guardsil to our patients. the pracitice has been charging out a 99211 for the visit as they feel the nurse is taking time to talk w/patient about their symptoms and vitals, I disagree and stated that they should be using 96372 as that includes takin patients vitals and monitioring patient during the visit. As coders what would be the proper guidelins for guardsil injections. thank you:o

A 99211 is bundled to 96372 and a modifier is not allowed. So that tells you that any counseling performed is inclusive to the administration of the medication.
