Patient was seen for office visit, bilateral Euflexxa injections of knees and Depo injection of right hip.
This is how we coded it.
99213-25
J7323 with 2 units
20610-50
J1040 1 unit

My question is will WPS Medicare pay for the 20610 separately for the hip injection or is there a different modifier to use? Any other recommendations on coding this?
 
I would use an XS modifier for the single 20610, this will tell the payer that it is for a separate site. In addition link your diagnosis codes so that the knee codes are only linked to the knee codes and the hip only to the hip codes.
