We have an unspecified lump in the male breast the only code that states that is female only. Does anyone know of a 2018 code that can be used for males? Please help.

coding for male lump in breast

The codes for breast lump are all gender neutral codes. The malignant neoplasm of breast however do specify male or female. If your bill software is giving you a gender edit for the breast lump codes then you will need to speak to your vendor.

No in the 2018 book it says for females we have not coded it yet. when you look up the N63 codes they are for female it says int he book.

Perhaps it is an error in your code book, my book shows no such designation for gender with the N63 codes.

I am having the same problem. I have a male patient with a breast nodule and the book directs me to code N63. But my books also states it is for female patients only.
