I work for internal audit and compliance and a question came up from one of the NP's at a hospital we work with. If a patient has an NG tube placed then proceeds to pull it out themselves and it has to be replaced, can the procedure be rebilled on the same day? What diagnoses would be used for that, the same as the initial dx, the reason the tube was placed? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
