When a NP provides "Direct" surgical assist services, what is the policy of assigning CPT's? Should the NP contact the Surgeon's office to determine the CPT codes used or should they assign what they deem appropriate CPT codes?
Also, does anyone have any guideline on when to submit the claims for the NP's services? Should they wait until the surgeon has submitted their claim first? If so what is the standard time you should wait to submit claims?
