We are a pain management clinic and have a patient who was diagnosed with cancer which was removed and followed with radiation. She now has polyneuropathy due to this. The most logical external-cause code for this seems to be Y84.2 for radiotherapy as the cause of abnormal reaction or later complication. I do not know whether her cancer treatment included antineoplastic drugs (to use T45.1X5S), and so I cannot used G62.0 for drug-induced polyneuropathy. If I used G62.82 for radiation-induced polyneuropathy, they want the external cause code (W88-W90, X39.0-) and none of those supporting codes are for radiotherapy. Would it be best for me to just use G62.89 for other specified polyneuropathies and also use my Y84.2 code?

Thank you!
