how are people coding a tetanus shot during an annual physical exam? Any suggestions????
 
use the appropriate preventive medicine code (99381-99396?) linked to the appropriate V code AND
use the tetanus code(s) from the medicine section linked to the appropriate V codes.
Some carriers also pay an administration code for the injection but not when billed with the preventive medicine code. Hope this helps
