I have a plastic surgery case that I am not completely certain as to the appropriate CPT code.
PreOp indication: Painful right axillary mass
Postop diagnosis: Presumably accessory breast tissue
Procedure Performed: Excision of right axillary mass
The surgeons office has billed a 19120 though nothing in the report states this was an excision of the breast. Right axilla was prepped, drapped and incised. I feel it would be a soft tissue excision. Path did confirm accessory breast tissue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
