Wiki Coding Help fusion with fixation

The Dr is going to be doing a fusion with fixation on the hallux and digits 2&3. She is going to be coding 28297 for the Hallux but has a question on how to code the digits. We are both thinking 28730. Is this correct?
 
Code 28730 would not be the correct code for arthrodesis of the digits. You have not give a "reason" for performing the procedures. Code 28297 is a good code if your correcting a bunion and performing arthrodesis at the mid-foot, but there are other reasons for performing arthrodesis of the Hallux and other procedures as well. Without knowing the reason for the procedures being done it's almost impossible to help out.
