Is it correct to code 454.0 with 454.8; both diagnoses are present on separate lower extremities.

I'm questioning this based on coding guidance for codes 440.20-440.29 which states that patients who have an ulcer are coded only to 440.23, whether they have rest pain or claudication (other symptoms), and no other lesser code is used.

I do not see this same coding clarification listed under code range 454.0-454.8.

Is there guidance available for this code range?
