Heyyy!! I'm going to start billing the OB US performed at our gyn/OB office, I have been doing research about the US coding, sometimes I got confused w/ the parameters that they must met. Does anyone have any guide in reference to this??? I will appreciate any advice!! Thanks in advance :)

Can you be more specific about what you're finding confusing? CPT does describe the required elements for each code

For example CPT describe the parameters to be assessed in the codes 76801 and 76805 (eg: gestational sac, fetal rate, amniotic fluid, anatomy, etc.), however I don't see a similar description for 76813, 76815, 76816, 76818 and 76819. I'm also wondering if there is any guide to follow that could help w/ gyn US coding???

76813 is for nuchal translucency measurement.

For 76815, there are some example elements listed in the cpt description. It's a limited u/s so can also use if they don't meet all the requirements for 76801 or 76805. 78616 is a repeat growth/or relook at an anomaly previously noted

A BPP will generally look at 4 elements, each can score 2 points, for a total of 8. If a non stress test is also performed with the BPP, then 10 points

Here's an example
