Wiki Coding removal and transplant status codes.

Hi Coders,

Is it possible that I should code both removal and transplant code for the same organ together in the same chart.

For example,1. if a patient has undergone Nephrectomy and then kidney transplant afterwards. Do I need to code both Z90.5 and Z94.0?
2. If a woman has undergone right Mastectomy followed by reconstruction for the same. Do I need to code Z90.11 and Z98.89?

Transplant can't be done without removing the existing one or unless there is an absence of the kidney... So only you needed to code Transplant status code only, it means there was an absence of that organ.
