When using a diagnosis code such as M25.55 that does not have a bilateral option, would you bill right hip M25.551 and left hip M25.552 or just bill unspecified M25.559 to include both hip?

i would do both right and left codes if there wasn't a bilateral option

The coding guidelines state that if there is no bilateral code available you are to code both the left and the right, not unspecified.
