Hello,

If a patient falls and fractures their hip and has surgery done on it and they come in for a follow up do you code the fracture or do you code the Post Operative code (Z98.89) of (z96.641 or Z96.642).

I think you code the Z98.89 with a 99024.

Z98.89 is no longer a valid code. I would use Z98.890 with the 99024. You could also add the arthroplasty status, but I don't think that it would be necessary.
