In oncology clinic, pt has gallbladder ca with small cell path... most gallbladder has adeno ca path.. for chemo tx, my dr..wants the path applied to code?
Is this possible or will it have to be supported with documentation/labs?? Thanks, LF
 
the only ca code that is specific to path is melanoma. otherwise small cell or adeno does not change the dx code. You can always put a note in field 19 to explain the path but you are allowed only 28 characters and spaces count as characters to write a note in this field.
