What is the accurate definition of a collateral visit?
 
This normally indicates the patient was not present, and the entire session was spent with an "involved" person and was focused on the patient.
 
Billing Collateral Visits

My providers are wanting to bill for speaking and training teachers that have one of their patients in their class. The parent is asking us to help the teacher interract with a behavioral health student. I believe this would be a collateral visit and is not covered by commercial insurance. They would like to bill the parents for this service. advice?
