So a colonoscopy is to the Cecum- so provider goes all the way to cecum does a polypectomy in cecum - but wants to repeat due to poor prep - how are others handling this scenario?
 
There are some guidelines in the CPT book on this scenario. It also depends on the reasons for the colonoscopy and on the carriers guidelines as well.

If it's a screening and you want to 'stop the clock' then 53 modifier is necessary.
