Can you bill a 45381 polyp lift with a 59 modifier along with the actual procedure if Dr performs. Our claims are being denied insurance companies are saying this is global. can someone please help.

Rephased -colonoscopy question

When the physician is removing polyp with snare (45385) and he injects saline to lift same polyp-can we also bill for the 45381 saline lift since it is the same polyp. We have been taught to only bill for the most successful procedure.

We bill 45385 and 45381 with no modifiers and have no problem getting paid.

I agree with JanelleThibodeau

When you use the saline lift to then snare the polyp, you bill both 45385 & 45381 and no modifiers are necessary. Been billing it like this for years without a problem.
