I am coding a colonoscopy for a non medicare patient. The pre-op states rectal bleeding, the physician finds acute prolapsing internal and external hemorrhoids. He states the the rectal bleeding is "most probably due to hemorrhoids." How would you code this?

You would first code the external and internal hemirrhoids and then the reason they came in which is the rectal bleeding. So you're going to code it anyway. Does this make sense?
