What dx code do I use for a kidney transplant candidate that is requiring a colonoscopy for medical clearance? The pt is 31 and has mcr/mcd.

I would think screening? It is being done as a screening test although at a younger age than normal. That's an interesting question. Thoughts anyone?

We also use v76.51 when the transplant center instructs us to bill the patient's insurance. (Many times, the transplant center instructs us to bill them with a specific code). You might also look at adding v72.83 as a secondary dx.
