Wiki colonoscopy prior to colostomy takedown

Does anyone try to bill out a colonoscopy to see if there is healing to takedown a colostomy? These are being done in the same day with the colonoscopy in the morning and surgery to follow in the afternoon. I have tried putting a 58 modifier on the colonoscopy to get it paid and they still deny. Should we even be charging for this? Sometimes it is a different doc, but in the same practice that does the scope.

Thanks for any input.
