I am not sure exactly what CPT code to use the provider
here is the procedure
this was a colonoscopy
A small semi-pedunculated polyp
was found in the rectum. Destruction of tissue via ablation was attempted
using electrocautery.

At first I thought 45388 but now I am not sure

thanks

Hello CCANTER,

I agree with CPT 45388 for colonoscopy with ablation of rectal polyp.

45388: The physician performs flexible colonoscopy and ablation of a tumor, polyp, or other lesion. The physician inserts the colonoscope into the anus and advances the scope through the colon to the cecum. The lumen of the colon and rectum are visualized. The tumor, polyp, or other lesions are identified and ablated by laser or other method. The colonoscope is withdrawn at the completion of the procedure.
