Can I please get help with the difference between these 2 things. 45355 is the CPT code we have on our super bill for Colonoscopy with colostomy but it says via colotomy in CPT book.
Your input is appreciated.

The 45355 is when the doctor makes an incision in the patient's abdomen and inserts the scope thru that incision to perform the colonoscopy. Try looking at the codes starting with 44388, colonoscopy thru stoma. That is when the physican inserts the scope thru the colostomy.
