colposcopy for adult male??

A question has been brought up about performing sexual assault tests on adult male victims. The description for colposcopy is clearly for females only. Do you all code to anoscopy 46600, or do you have another cpt you utilize for this?

First of all, Great Job on the coding! You are correct. The sexual assault or suspected sexual assault ICD-9-CM code should be listed primary. The anoscopy is now used for suspected of assault or trauma for males. So YES!!! You would use the 46600 code for this.

Hope this helps!!!!
