Is companion care that is provided for extra help to a resident with dementia in an SNF, reimbursable by medicare or medicaid? I located HCPCS code S5135 but the description said that it wasn't reimbursable by Medicare. Does anyone know if such a service would be covered if it was proven medically necessary by MD and how to code it? Thank you!
