My provider placed a hemorrhoid band in office. The pt waited 10 minutes and started having spasms, the band was loosened. The pt waited again and started experiencing pain and spasms again, the band was loosened. After another 10 minute wait the pt was still experiencing pain and spasm. The provider did a rectal exam and could not locate the band. Can you still bill for banding if the provider feels like it fell off before leaving the office?
