2 month old /avsd admitted for medical management of ccf.
they started captopril . this is his first consulation., admitted to start medications.
for sure baby is not in congestion.
what shall be my primary dx- avsd or ccf.
i think he started captopril to avoid future complications and of course till surgery is planned ,this is the only treatment for congenital problems.
so, i wish to give AVSD.

From the detail given above, 745.69 should be considered as the primary ICD-9. However, I would also code something to indicate medical management of the condition. I took a quick look, and the only code I could find was the CPT G8473 which is for Quality Measures. I only gave you the G8473 as an example of something to code from ICD-9. Not sure what that would be. Sorry. :)
