Help!

I was asked to code for a interventional radiology consultation for gastro tube placement.

I am not at all familiar with radiology and cannot seem to find the right code (s) for this.

Any ideas or tricks?

I think the E&M codes can be used for any specialty.

are you asking about a dx.code to use or an appropriate E&M code. If it's a dx.question would have to be more specific for anyone to help. As to the E&M, just remember you would not use a consult code for a medicare/caid pt. Depending on whether pt. is an inpt or outpt you would use an initial hosp.stay for an initial consult on an inpt.and a new pt.or established pt visit for an outpt. Otherwise, just follow the guidelines on documentation for the level.
