Good morning everyone! My provider has just started billing for 95249-ambulatory continuous glucose monitoring minimum of 72 hours, patient provided equipment, sensor placement, hookup calibration of monitor, patient training, and printout of recording. I'm not sure if his documentation supports this service. It looks like the CGM is just being started on this encounter. I need your input and it will be greatly appreciated. What's your opinion or advise?
"We started the patient on freestyle libre 14 day to help check her sugars. Sensor applied and was told how to use it. HYPOGLYCEMIA prevention, detection, and management were reviewed and emphasized. I have also reviewed current ADA diet and exercise and strongly recommended to follow our instructions and adhere to treatment recommendations. I answered all questions to patient's satisfaction."
