If a patient is seen in an ED that has contracted physicians, is it ok for the facility to bill an E/M code and wound repair, and the contracted physician to bill a different level E/M code and wound repair for the same date of service??

Hey Ashley!! I live in Jeff city also! Anyway to answer your question it is absolutely appropriate to have the facility bill a different level of E&M since they are based on totally different criteria. The procedure code must match.
