Wiki Contracting Help

I was wondering if anybody can give me some help on reimbursement from Commercial insurers. I am new to this office and they have not renegotiated their commercial insurance contracting since the 1980's . Does anyone know the percentage of reimbursement we should be getting above Medicare rates? I am in New York Downstate and this was kind of thrown my way. Anyone have any words of wisdom, things to look out for, and how I can negotiate the best rate? I would appreciate your help

Renegotiating contracts

Unfortunately it seems as though Medicare rates are being used as the standard for reimbursement her in California. We were able to negotiate a rate of 135% of the medicare rate with Blue Cross and UnitedHealthcare, a couple of others are in negotiation. Hope this helps you.
